A maximum of 8 hours per day (can be extended to 10 hours, as long as an average of 8 hours is maintained within 6 months).
For working more than 6 hours:** At least 30 minutes break.
For working more than 9 hours:** At least 45 minutes break.
The break can be split into segments of at least 15 minutes each.
Break times must be determined in advance and must not be spent at the workstation.
After finishing work, there must be a minimum rest period of 11 hours before starting work again.
According to a ruling by the European Court of Justice (ECJ, 2019) and the subsequent decision by the Federal Labor Court (BAG, 2022), there is a general obligation to record working time in Germany.
Employers must ensure that working hours are recorded completely (or: comprehensively).
The exact implementation (e.g., digital time tracking, timesheets) has not yet been specified in legislation, but legal amendments are expected.
Working time corrections are made in the client under Time > Working Time.
Access to Entries:
Read permission for entries: Employees of the 'HR Support' department and Team Leaders (for their assigned employees) have access to the entry data via "show logbook for".
Cancellation and correction of entries: Only 'HR Support' and the respective employee themselves are authorized to cancel entries or make correction entries.
Adjustments to the employee's time account may only be made by the 'HR Support' department.
The process is initiated by selecting '+New > Time Account Adjustment' and then selecting the respective employee whose time account needs to be adjusted. The following can be adjusted:
